CEREC means time and money to you. It is state-of-the-art technology, developed at the University of Zurich, Switzerland, that enables patients to have advanced restorative procedures completed in one sitting, resulting in an efficient process for dentist and patient.
A camera and medical-grade computer work together to perform computer-aided design in 3D to measure the contours of the tooth while you are in the dentist’s chair. After the image is tweaked by Dr. Grabeman to perfect the design, the information is instantly relayed to the milling unit, and a ceramic block, selected from an array of shades to match your teeth, is shaped. While you watch, two diamond-coated burs shape your new tooth using the measurements conveyed from the camera and CAD technology. No impressions! No gagging! No temporary crown, requiring an additional visit! In addition to crowns, also fillings, partial crowns and veneers make use of this high-tech system.
